Companion is the iPhone recording app for Sightline. It works only with a paired copy of Sightline for Mac or Windows.
You need an iPhone running iOS 26 or later, a paired copy of the desktop app, and Bluetooth LE turned on for both devices. If the companion will not connect, check that Bluetooth is on and that the phone is paired with your Mac or Windows copy of Sightline.
Observations transfer over encrypted Bluetooth, with no cloud storage in between. If a sync does not finish, the observation stays on the phone until the devices reconnect and the computer confirms receipt. The phone deletes its copy only after that confirmation. Full detail in the companion privacy note.
Email support@sightlinebehavior.com. Include your iOS version, your computer's operating system and version, and whether the problem happens during pairing or while transferring an observation.
